The Mortal Kombat XL Showdowns is where gamers compete using consoles to play against opponents in a single elimination bracket. The last gamer standing (or sitting) is considered the winner and will receive the grand prize and the accolades that come with that.

The Prelims is the preliminary games that allow gamers to compete against each other until the top 4 players are reached. Those players will win an entry seat in the main event Showdown to have a chance to win the grand prize.

The Main Event is the Showdown that gamers will compete to win the grand prize.

The Ultimate Showdown is when the competition is down to the last two gamers and for “all the marbles”. The match will be decided from the Best of five. Best of five meaning the first gamer to win three of the five matches will be declared the winner.
